Prenatal Care

Home Birth Midwifery Services

If you're not yet pregnant, but thinking about it as a future possibility, Magpie offers well-person preconception care. This involves routine blood work, STI testing, PAP smears, and nutritional and supplement counseling. We offer guidance to get your body in a stable and balanced place prior to conception, setting you up for the success you deserve.

Magpie offers one-hour long prenatal appointments from the comfort of your own home for ease and convenience. Prenatal appointments involve clinical assessment of you and your baby's well-being, any screening, testing, or lab work that's indicated, and give you plenty of time to ask any and all questions regarding your pregnancy and birth. We operate on the same routine prenatal schedule as allopathic systems.

Comprehensive, safe, and professional birth services within your own home. We bring the birth suite to you, with all the supplies needed to ensure a safe experience for you and your baby. Magpie also offers water birth at no extra cost. Birth looks different for everyone, so our job is to meet you where you're at, acclimate, adjust, and offer the support that *you* need.

Postpartum Care

Additional Services

In-depth support for the whole family. We see you and your baby as one unit and treat you both accordingly. Postpartum care with Magpie midwives is more involved than hospital approaches, and one of the biggest perks of the midwifery care model. Each postpartum appointment is at least one hour long and involves clinical assessment for both you and your baby, as well as education and support around your healing process. We remain on-call for you into the postpartum period, to be available for any questions or concerns you may have during this incredibly special and sacred time. After you give birth, we see you again at 24-hrs, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks postpartum.

Magpie Midwives also provide doula services, placental encapsulation, well gynecology testing, loss support, STI testing, pregnancy testing, contraceptive and fertility counseling, and more for families that are using our home birth services and for those seeing other providers.
